Archive Scanning Solution
Purpose: Document possible steps towards developing a temporary scanning solution for the digitization of text and books. This project was tentatively though to serve as a potential solution in the event that Reports to the governor of Alaska were unable to be located Problem: The Stonecorp project foresaw potentially digitizing a number of volumes pertinent to its research scope. UAA’s current solution, while adequate in quality, lacked efficient scanning speed.

What skills or knowledge are you developing or learning about through your internship? New skills and knowledge have been gained from the auxiliary tasks this semester; namely, the SQL database and scanning solution. What have you accomplished? Fixed previous errors within the Text Library of Reports to the Commissioner of Education. There was a mislabeling of years 1891-1892 and 1893 was missing. Briefly researched into an affordable book scanning solution to efficiently digitize volumes of books in a time efficient manner ~900 pages an hour Provided input into possible revisions to a grant proposal Briefly managed an SQL database for better revision management
