StoneCorp is the cheeky label for the collection of excerpts containing the context keywords pertinent to Dr. Stone’s research topic. Context keywords attempt to cover aspects of English pedagogy, composition, speech, and comprehension – without returning too many false positives. These excerpts were then reviewed. The excerpts found pertinent, even partially, were cross-referenced within the originating PDF to look at the larger context. If the larger context was related to the target research topic then the excerpt was highlighted in order to quickly reference in ATLAS.ti. The initial excerpt table contained a column relating to the relevancy in order to aid in the highlighting and annotation of the excerpts corresponding PDF file; however, as the context keyword list was updated and the data was imported into qualitative data analyst software suites such as ATLAS.ti , this column became largely irrelevant. Its existence in earlier revisions is largely for archive purposes. Additional information regarding the structure of the collection can be found in ‘Accessing and Managing StoneCorp’.
The highlighted PDFs may be accessed through these directories. In sum, there are ~500MB of PDFs.
The electronic text library is searchable; however, full words and phrases must be affixed with a quotation (e.g “dance”).
