The 2015 Rasp-Pi Skytream project was completed Elgin Bradley and I for a project management class while completing our Associates in Applied Science – Computer Systems and Technology. The Matanuska campus had a Skystream wind turbine installed and planned on collecting statistical wind and power data to submit to the OPEN EI database; however, previous projects failed to deploy a long term solution.
The following documents serve as an archive to Elgin and I’s efforts to deploy a Raspberry-Pi micro-computer running Kansas State University’s ‘Wind for Schools’ Linux image to communicate with the turbine through a Zigbee and transmit collected data to OpenEI’s ‘Wind for School’s’ database.
